Threadless / Push-Fit
A threadless end uses a small pin that fits inside a hollow post. The pin is gently bent to create tension. No screw threads are used.

Internally Threaded
The post is hollow and contains threads on the inside. The decorative end has the exposed threaded pin. The wearable surface of the post does not have external screw threads.

Externally Threaded
The post has exposed threads on its outside and the end screws over them. Because exposed threading can pass through the piercing channel during insertion, many professional piercing applications favor internally threaded or threadless systems.

Compatibility
- Match the exact threading system.
- Match post gauge and manufacturer thread specification.
- Do not force an end that does not turn or seat normally.
- Threadless pins should be adjusted gently; excessive bending can damage the pin.
